Imagine opening your monthly mobile bill and seeing six digits in the Amount Due box. How would you react? Celina Aarons told WSVN-TV that she was “freaking out” when she opened her bill and saw that she owed T-Mobile $201,005.44. Those six digits were no error, the mobile bill and charges are legit.

“I was shaking, crying, I couldn’t even talk that much on the phone. I was like my life is over!” Celina explained to WSVN-TV. Aarons shares her mobile plan with her two brothers, both of which are legally deaf and mute. The younger brother, Shamir, while on vacation for two weeks in Canada didn’t turn off data roaming. During the time, he watched Youtube videos and texted, all the while Aarons bill ballooned from thousands of dollars in charges.

T-Mobile didn’t notify Celina of these earth-shattering charges beforehand, however, T-Mobile has agreed to lower the bill to a still amazing $2,500 and give her six months to pay it off. I’m surprise with the hostile publicity T-Mobile didn’t waive the entire bill, especially for a woman with two deaf and mute brothers. “Phone bill shock” is nothing new, it is actually quite common, so much so that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed rules to combat it.
