Apple Turnover
Now it all makes sense. It is made completely clear. With the announcement of the iPhone 4S by Apple yesterday morning, we can see why Apple has gone after Samsung and its Galaxy S II (and Tab tablets) smartphones. Is it because Apple truly believes Samsung copied its designs? Or. Did the Galaxy S II surprise the hell out of Apple?

For the first time, Apple has a true competitor in Samsung. Let’s forget the total number of Android devices activated and concentrate solely on the Galaxy S II. Since its debut in May, 2011, Samsung has sold more than 10 million Galaxy S II smartphones worldwide. That number does NOT include the sale of the phone in North America, as it has only been recently released in America and Canada. The potential sales in North America are staggering.
Apple knew it was going to release a minor update in the iPhone series and saw the Galaxy S II as a major threat to the smartphone crown. You can see it throughout the tech news articles and blogs everywhere, the iPhone 4S is a lackluster phone compared to the Galaxy S II.
Even though this is all speculation, it makes perfect sense if you look at the timeline since the launch of the Galaxy S II and Apple’s litigation against Samsung. Someone other than Apple has created a marvel in tech wizardry. So what do you do if you can’t beat a competitor, sue.
Is this the end of Apple’s reign as the top smartphone maker? Probably not. Will competitors like Samsung keep Apple from resting on its laurels again, in the future? Yes. Apple has to realize, if you want to stay on top, you must bring your A game and always innovate.
